Movies frame ideas and points of view. I have lately watched these two movies and both are really interesting. Everyday life issues could be really different from the ones we are used to. Check them out and comment!
Paradise Now is a brilliant film. It displays the struggle that young Palestinians go through in trying to find their identity as a displaced people.
I never thought I would have sympathy for a suicide bomber, and looking back on that word choice, I suppose it's not so much sympathy as an understanding of where the problem stems from that causes young men to turn to terrorism and extremism.
Despite being set nearly a decade ago (things have since developed beyond the world portrayed) I highly recommend this film to anyone wishing to enter the mindset of two men, desperate to find direction for their anger and blame for their sorrow and struggles. It's still so relevant to today's struggle of young Palestinians.
